Cell Systems, an AnaBios company, offers a wide variety of human primary cells, including endothelial cells from the brain, liver, kidney, eye and lung that have been instrumental in the ongoing assessment of COVID-19.
Their liver sinusoidal endothelial cells were recently used in a pivotal study of a novel liver-chip model that rigorously validated the use of the primary cells for this microfluidics application, according to the industry standards set by the International Consortium for Innovation and Quality in Pharmaceutical Development.

The high quality of our human tissue is demonstrated by their industry-leading RNA Integrity Number (RIN) scores. Higher RIN scores are a measure of tissue quality, confirm a closer identity to the native state and deliver a stronger resource for translational target identification, omics-based analyses and more.
The high quality of AnaBios procured tissue is verified through the RNA Integrity Number (RIN) score. Higher RIN scores equate to higher quality tissue with less RNA degradation (Schroeder et al., 2006) and preservation of critical activity-dependent genes that more susceptible to postmortem RNA degradation (Dachet et al., 2021).
Our RIN scores are determined via the Agilent BioAnalyzer 2100 and Expert Analysis Software and mean values from healthy tissue (above) show 25% to 40% higher than those from other suppliers (in-house data compared to that of the GTEx Consortium). The Industry-leading RIN scores from AnaBios healthy and diseased tissue ensures the highest quality human tissue for discovery programs.
AnaBios has an existing and growing biobank of human tissue samples and cells that enable down-stream investigations.
AnaBios recognizes the stewardship that comes with human tissue samples. As such, all tissue samples are recovered and processed with proprietary methods that maximize tissue integrity and physiological function (where appropriate). Our tissue quality control, based on RIN scores and measurements of physiological function, provides a unique guarantee of exceptional quality and the highest grade for supporting scientific research and drug discovery.
Our human tissue samples and cells are recovered only within the United States. All recoveries follow informed consent procedures that meet or exceed standard guidelines concerning consent for human organ donation for research in a “for profit” environment as established by industry practice and governed by the Uniform Anatomical Gift Act (UAGA). Only anonymized and/or de-identified patient information is provided by AnaBios, as defined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
